The Open Garden is our main event of the year. These beautiful hidden gardens, both large and small, are tucked away from view, giving you the opportunity to explore some hidden treasures. The recorder group, Close Consort, will provide music in the gardens. Refreshments: available at the South Canonry. Proceeds: to the Friends of Salisbury Cathedral and the Sudan Medical Link. Friends’ Day 2019

Friends' Day is your opportunity to get together with other Friends of Salisbury Cathedral for a day of talks, lectures, fellowship and worship. We start with the AGM, followed by a talk by our guest speaker, Dr William McVicker, about 'Father' Willis and the Salisbury Cathedral organ.  A sumptuous afternoon tea in the cloisters will precede an organ recital by the new organ scholar, Sam Bristow and the day will be rounded off with Evensong in the cathedral.

A pre-Christmas treat, we will be hosting the group This is my Theatre at the Medieval Hall on Tuesday 10th December 2019 who will perform Dickens' A Christmas Carol.  Come and enjoy the drama and warmth of a Victorian-style festive performance with friends, mulled wine, music and carols. A fascinating evening with Katharine Hogg, librarian at the Foundling Museum, giving an insight into the life of composer, entrepreneur and philanthropist George Frideric Handel, who was a governor of the Foundling Hospital. The institution became England’s first public art gallery and organised popular fundraising concerts. Tickets £15 (includes a glass of wine and nibbles) – early booking strongly advised
