Stained Glass

Salisbury Cathedral is a world famous landmark in the south of England, with a Spire soaring to 404 feet, the tallest in Britain, with cloisters older and larger than any in England, and Europe’s oldest working medieval clock. It is also home to one of only four surviving original Magna Carta (AD1215). Built in just 38 years between 1220 and 1258, it is a masterpiece of Early English Gothic, and has just celebrated its 750th Anniversary, when the Archbishop of Canterbury re-consecrated the Cathedral in September 2008. Situated in the beautiful and peaceful Close, it was built to inspire and reflect God’s glory, and whilst it is a place of quiet prayer and reflection, it is as a centre bringing together hundreds of people in our great Christian services that it comes alive to the sound of the choir and the congregation raising their voices.

We have many Friends across the Globe – if you would like to join us, please complete an application form or get in touch with us. You would be helping us support one of the 20 great Christian Cathedrals built after the Battle of Hastings – we want our Cathedral to continue to welcome visitors to Salisbury from all over the world.
