Secret Gardens of the close

On Sunday 25 May 2025 from 1pm to 5pm The Friends of Salisbury Cathedral will be holding their ninth annual Secret Gardens of the Close afternoon. This wonderful event has become the highlight of the calendar and is immensely popular with Friends and visitors alike.
This year’s event will see 11 property owners within the Close open their doors to the public, allowing visitors to explore their beautiful gardens against the setting of our beautiful Cathedral.
Tea and cake will be available in the Bishop’s garden at South Canonry and there will be an exhibition of botanical art in the Medieval Hall. The artwork will be for sale, along with cards and the book Secret Gardens of the Close, produced by Salisbury Florilegium Society and featuring its members’ paintings.
The event runs from 1pm to 5pm and the entry fee is £10 per person (under 16s free), payable on the day at the tent on Choristers’ Green. Early bird booking is available for members of The Friends of Salisbury Cathedral, please email friends@salcath.co.uk or friends2@salcath.co.uk to receive the booking link.
